Building the Infrastructure for Hypergrowth
MODUS

CHALLENGE
Modus, a fast-growing telecommunications services company was scaling rapidly, but its people systems, internal communications, employer brand, and public presence all needed to mature alongside the business.
MY APPROACH
Working closely with founders and leadership, I helped build both the internal and external infrastructure needed for sustainable growth by:
-
Building foundational HR and people programs
-
Creating internal communication strategies and channels that kept employees aligned during rapid growth
-
Launching the company's first recruiting-focused social media channels
-
Leading redesigns of two company websites
-
Writing the company's first press releases
-
Strengthening employer branding to attract talent
-
Supporting leadership through organizational change and continued expansion
IMPACT
During this period, the company:
-
Grew over 1000%
-
Increased employee engagement by approximately 40%
-
Achieved B Corp Certification
-
Earned recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies
-
Successfully merged with NextEdge
INSIGHT
Growing organizations don't scale through hiring alone. They scale when strategy, culture, communications, leadership, and brand mature together.
Building Alignment Across Organizational Silos
MODUS
CHALLENGE
Many organizations struggle because departments optimize independently instead of working toward shared outcomes.
MY APPROACH
Throughout my career, I've helped leaders:
-
Clarify shared priorities
-
Improve cross-functional communication
-
Facilitate difficult conversations
-
Establish governance and decision-making processes
-
Create alignment between strategy and execution
IMPACT
Teams moved faster, reduced duplication of effort, and collaborated more effectively.

INSIGHT
Alignment is one of the highest-leverage investments an organization can make.
Designing Organizations That Can Scale
MODUS

CHALLENGE
Organizations often outgrow the systems that once made them successful.
MY APPROACH
Across multiple organizations, I've helped design:
-
Organizational processes
-
Leadership communication rhythms
-
Employee experience initiatives
-
Strategic planning processes
-
Cross-functional operating models
-
Change management approaches
IMPACT
Organizations became better equipped to absorb growth, adapt to change, and execute strategy consistently.
INSIGHT
Organizations rarely fail because of a lack of vision. More often, they struggle because their systems haven't kept pace with their ambitions.
Leading Innovation & Learning Culture
MODUS
CHALLENGE
Teams were siloed, using different metrics and practices. Institutional knowledge was being lost as leaders retired or moved on.
Innovation was not incentivized. Processes were stagnant.
MY APPROACH
Partnering with a co-founder, I created and assembled a cross-functional Innovations Team to address needs across the company and share best practices. The Team also instituted a 'Raising the Bar' Award to encourage innovation on an individual level. Partnering with leaders and subject matter experts, I led the company's first e-Learning program development and implementation.
IMPACT
Teams and individuals felt more encouraged and incentivized to experiment and collaborate, sharing findings and best practices.

-
Facilitate strategic planning

Align organizational priorities

Develop new initiatives that support long-term growth

Seeing the Patterns Others Miss
MY APPROACH -- WHAT I LOOK FOR IN MY FIRST 30 DAYS
When I enter an organization, I pay attention to questions like:
-
Where do decisions consistently stall?
-
Which teams aren't talking to each other?
-
What stories are employees telling that leaders aren't hearing?
-
Where are the disconnects between strategy and day-to-day work?
-
What processes create unnecessary friction?
-
Which issues are being avoided rather than addressed?
These signals often reveal opportunities long before they appear on a dashboard or in an employee survey.
INSIGHT
Organizations communicate through far more than words. By reading patterns in behaviors, relationships, and decision-making, it's often possible to identify root causes before they become major problems.
