Modus
2019
Website Redesign & Copywriting: worked with designer to re-conceptualize and implement new look and structure
Problem:
The original Modus website, created during its startup phase, was dark, clunky and difficult for a layperson to understand what services the company offered and what differentiated it from its competitors.
Action:
Partnering with one of the co-founders, I gathered an internal cross-functional team to assess the website, create a list of needs, and decide on the aesthetic that would best suit the company it was emerging into. I drafted copy for the home page and Careers page, and assigned specific page copy to the subject matter experts.
Result:
For the first time, customers actually referred to the new website. Prospective employees cited it during interviews, expressing their delight at seeing employee profiles on the Team page. And current employees proudly touted the website as representing the company accurately and stylishly, maintaining its warmth and local appeal while reflecting its growing geographic reach.

NextEdge
2018
Website Redesign: worked with design firm to re-conceptualize and implement new look and copy
Problem:
Prior to the acquisition of Modus, NextEdge's website was simple and straightforward, but also generic. It did not represent the company's personality or vision. The acquisition prompted a refresh that would reflect the energy and excitement of the acquisition and the future it was creating.
Action:
Partnering with co-founders from both companies, I created a list of needs and the aesthetic that would maintain the differentiation between the two companies. I drafted copy for the home page and Careers page, and assigned specific page copy to the subject matter experts.
Result:
The resulting website accurately represented the direction in which the company was moving, reflecting its status as an industry leader. While aligned in its messaging with the Modus website, it was clearly differentiated in tone and vibe as a national, forward-looking brand.

Zhou Yi
2015
Website Design and Copywriting to promote author
Problem:
Author Zhou Yi had no digital presence. She wanted a website that would reflect her many facets as a writer.
Action:
Working with the author, I created a list of needs and the aesthetic that would reflect her past and present experience of moving between two cultures.
Result:
The website is a visual representation of the author's rich cultural history and dramatic voice. It combines the vibe of old world mystery with a bold, modern edge, reflecting the author's confidence and commanding personality.
